If you’re considering investing in an electric vehicle (EV), there’s no better time! With almost every manufacturer releasing their own fully electric and hybrid cars, initial purchase prices continue to go down. In fact, many EVs are close to the same cost as traditional gas-powered vehicles.

Learn more about electric vehicles.

Last year saw some groundbreaking innovations in EVs, and 2024 is looking to be the year of electric SUVs. There are dozens of 2024 electric cars available for sale now or later this year, so don’t miss your chance to find the perfect energy-efficient vehicle for you! Let’s look at 10 of the most exciting new 2024 electric vehicles.

BMW i4

With two versions available, one with rear-wheel drive and one with all-wheel drive, the BMW i4 features an estimated driving range of 269 to 301 miles depending on the model. This electric vehicle was first released last year and is set to become one of the best new electric vehicles 2024. It can gain up to 90 miles of range in just 10 minutes of DC fast-charging and boasts an array of safety features, including emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection and lane-keeping assistance. Starting at $53,195 the BMW i4 is a great continuation of BMW’s EV efforts.

Porsche Macan Electric

Porsche’s follow-up to the wildly popular Taycan is the 2024 Macan Electric SUV. This larger vehicle packs a whopping 630 maximum horsepower and a top speed of 161 mph. The new Maycan is also the first Porsche electric vehicle to utilize 800-volt battery architecture, which means that you can charge from 10%-80% in around 21 minutes at a fast-charging station. Additionally, this will be the first Macan model to feature optional real-axel steering for better handling and tighter turns. Since it’s Porsche, there’s no shortage of luxury features in this EV, including increased interior and storage space, and a new passenger dash screen. This highly anticipated 2024 electric vehicle will be released later in the year and starts at $78,000.

Volvo EX30

This entry isn’t exactly a new electric car in 2024, as Volvo previously announced its release in 2023 before it was delayed to address necessary software development. However, the Volvo EX30 is still set to be one of the more affordable EVs on the market. It’s smaller than any other Volvo SUV, which explains how it can reach 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds. At fast-charging stations, it can charge from 10%-80% in about 26 minutes and has a 69-kWh battery capacity. While those aren’t the most impressive charging stats on the market, it boasts an impressive interior design featuring a soundbar, ambiance themes for interior lights, and a tablet-style center display, starting at $34,950.

FIAT 500e

FIAT fans rejoice, because this popular two-door sub-compact car is going electric in the U.S. this year. With a 149-mile range and the ability to charge to 80% from 0% in 35 minutes with a DC fast charger, it has one of the lowest battery capacity and slowest charging times of new electric cars in 2024. However, FIAT drivers know that this and previous models are best suited for shorter city driving, and what it lacks in battery life, it makes up for in sleek design upgrades. The FIAT 500e is due later in the year and will start at $34,095.

Hyundai Ioniq 7

Thanks to the popularity of the Ioniq 5 and 6, the spacious Hyundai Ioniq 7 is expected to be one of the best electric cars of 2024 — even though not a lot is known about the final design. It’s expected to be similar in size to the Hyundai Palisade and have three-row seating, coach doors, and tons of storage. It will have an estimated 300-mile range and a 20-minute charging time from 10% to 80% with fast chargers. Expect a starting price of around $50,000.

Acura ZDX

Acura’s first-ever electric vehicle, the ZDX is a collaboration between Acura and GM and will utilize the latter’s Ultium battery. It boasts an impressive 325-mile range, a 20-minute fast-charging time to 80%, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Maps integration to help you find public charging stations. The spacious interior and extensive range of this SUV may just make it one of the most popular new electric vehicles of 2024 for families, and starts at around $66,000.

Chevrolet Equinox EV

Chevrolet’s electric Blazer is coming later this year, but the Equinox EV marks the manufacturer’s first true electric SUV and one of the most highly anticipated 2024 electric vehicles. The standard model has 210 horsepower, but there’s optional all-wheel drive functionality with 290 horsepower. It has a range of 250 miles and can add 70 miles of range per 10 minutes of charging. The Equinox EV is due to be released in the Spring of 2024 and will start at $34,995.

Dodge Charger Daytona EV

The Charger Daytona EV has become one of the most talked about electric cars coming in 2024. This Charger will move from a four-door to a two-door and see the return of the Fratzog logo (replacing the Dodge logo), but Dodge is trying to keep a few things the same. It’s said that the Charger Daytona will feature a chambered exhaust system that imitates the sound of a V8 engine and will have horsepower similar to that of a Hellcat. How that will affect a projected 500-mile range is still unknown, but expect a starting price of around $50,000.
