Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the presenting sponsor of the 2017 Houston Light The Night (LTN) Walk to help this great organization fund lifesaving research of blood cancer treatments. On Friday, November 17, over Gexa 228 employees and family members joined more than 9,000 walkers at Minute Maid Park for a 2-mile walk with the purpose of bringing light to the darkness of cancer. At the LTN Walk, participants represent themselves through color; white lanterns carried by survivors, red lanterns carried by supporters, and gold lanterns by those honoring the memory of their loved ones.

Witnessing all of the participants come together to support LLS was truly inspiring, and we are thrilled to announce that Gexa employees helped raise over $35,000 in donations for this amazing cause. With support like that of our amazing employees, LLS was able to raise $1,265,815 during the Walk and has announced another $46 million commitment to cancer research projects. The LLS’s mission is to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of patients and their families through fundraising and volunteer initiatives.
