On Saturday, March 4, Gexa Energy hosted 151 children from the Texas Children’s Cancer Center and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center at the World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest. Our friends at Candlelighters Houston helped us identify and select these amazing kids being treated at local hospitals for a day of fun and games. As the proud host and sponsor of the Planet Texas bar-b-que cookoff, we were thrilled to be able to provide these deserving children the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of food, entertainment, and carnival festivities. Over 275 people joined us at this special event which allowed the kids and their families to leave the hospitals and treatment rooms behind them for a day and simply enjoy all of the rides and activities. We are committed to supporting organizations that strengthen our local community, and we are honored to have the opportunity to once again work with Candlelighters to make a difference in the lives of these families.
