Each year, Gexa Energy joins forces with our parent company NextEra Energy to celebrate Power to Care Day, a company-wide event where employees their family members work together in the communities they serve to make their neighborhoods a better place to raise families and conduct business. On Saturday, March 11, 33 Gexa Energy and NextEra Energy Gas Infrastructure employees and their family members volunteered their time at the Houston Food Bank (Portwall Warehouse location) packing food to benefit local families in need. Volunteers at the Houston Food Bank sorted, inspected, and filled 895 boxes of non-perishable food and created 22,375 meals that will help feed hungry families and individuals throughout Houston. Power to Care Day speaks to our company’s core values, and provides employees the opportunity to make a difference in our communities while spending meaningful time with co-workers, friends and family.
